Started his own practice in Porto in 1984. Participated in the exhibition Emerging European Architects, GSD Harvard University and Columbia University.
Was a guest critic at Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, USA. Awarded 1998 Bi-annual Architectural Prize of the Bund Deutscher Architekten, Berlin. Received three Secil Award nominations. His work has been introduced in various publications.
