Jean Nouvel Born in Fumel, southwest France, 1945. Studied architecture at the Ecole Nationale Superiére des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1966 to 1971. In 1972, obtained diploma as architect. Since 1970, independent practice in cooperation with many architects. Won the “Institute du Monde Arab” competition in 1981. Receved “Aga Khan Award.” in 1981. Honorary fellow, AIA in 1993. Honorary fellow RIBA in 1995. His current projects are Gasometers (mixed-use and residental project)/ Vienna, Museum of Human Evolution/ Burgos, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina-Sofia/Madrid, Riverside court project/ Prague, The Agber tower/ Barcelona, etc. Received the Royal Gold Medal of the RIBA in 2001 and was awarded the 13th Praemium Imperiale in Architecture 2001. |
