TEN Arquitectos
Bernardo Gómez-Pimienta was born in Brussels, Belgium in 1961. Studied architecture at the Universidad Anáhuac in Mexico City where he obtained his first professional degree in 1986. Received his Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University in 1987. Since 1987 he is a principal of TEN Arquitectos with partner Enrique Norten. Taught at Universidad Iberoamericana (1987–1988), Universidad Anáhuac (1989), the Universidad Autónoma de México (1992–1996, 1998 and 2001), Southern California Institute of Architecture (1994), University of Ilinois at Urbana-Champaign (1996–1997). Enrique Norten was born in Mexico City in 1954. Studied architecture at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City where he obtained his first professional degree in 1978. Received his Master of Architecture degree from Cornell University in 1980. Obtained his architectural license in Mexico City in 1985 and in the US (NY) in January of 2000. Started his professional practice in Mexico City in 1981 as partner of Albin y Norten Arquitectos S.C. In 1985 he founded the firm Taller de Enrique Norten Arquitectos S.C. (TEN Arquitectos) of which he is currently a Principal. Taught at the Universidad Iberoamericana (1980–1990), Parsons School of Design, Pratt Institute, Columbia University, the University of Southern California, Sci-Arc, Houston University and Rice University. TEN Arquitectos received the Latin American Grand Award at the Buenos Aires Biennial in 1993. Has also obtained Progressive Architecture Awards in 1994, 1995 and 1999; Record Houses Award in 1993, and awards at the Mexican Biennials in 1990, 1992,1994,1996 and 2000.
