Dominique Perrault


Born in Clermont-Ferrand, France in 1953. Received Diploma of Architecture from the Beaux-Arts School of Architecture. Studied urban planning at Ecole nationale des ponts et chausseés in Paris. Received his Master’s in Historical Studies from the School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences, Paris. Worked at the offices of Martin van Treck, Rune Dottelonde, and Antoine Grumbach. In 1981 established his own office in Paris. Major works include large-scale projects such as the Electrical Engineering College (ESIEE), Marne la Vallée; Velodrome and Swimming Pool, Berlin; and the National Library of France. Consultant architect for the city of Nantes since 1990, and member of the Council for Urban Planning of the city of Salzburg since 1994. President of the French Institute of Architecture (IFA).
