Bernard Ropa

Born 1952 in Algeria. Graduated from the school of graphic design in Marseilles in 1971. Worked 1972–1974 as graphic artist in Marseilles, Reykjavik/ Iceland and Vancouver/ Canada. Alternatively, studied architecture at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris and worked at some major architecture offices. Graduated Architecte DPLG in 1983. Project Director at Dominique Perrault’s Office from 1984 to 1987, in charge of the ESIEE electronic engineer’s school in Marne la Vallée. Partner architect in the Anspach Crespel Humbaire design office In 1988. Founded Anspach Crespel Humbaire & Ropa Architect in 1992 and in 2000 founded his own office. Taught architecture in Rennes from 1996 to 1997. Grand Prix of Contemporary Architecture of Seine & Marne in 1991. Current projects include Historical Record’s Center, District of Bas-Rhin, Strasbourg, (2004) and urban development and landscape design of the right bank in Bordeaux (2003), etc.
