Lars Spuybroek / NOX Born in 1959, Rotterdam. Studied Architecture at Technical University of Delft. Since the early 90s he has been involved in the researching the relationship between architecture and computing. He worked as an editor-publisher of NOX, and later Forum, made video (Soft City) and interactive electronic artworks (Soft Site, edit Spline, deep Surface). But the last 5 years, he is focussing more on architecture like HtwoOexpo (a+u 99:10), V2_lab (a+u 99:10), wetGRID (a+u 01:07), and D-tower (a+u 01:07). His current projects include the interactive tower for the Dutch city of Doetinchem, a house where sounds live (Son-O-house), a combination building in Lille, France, and several others. Has lectured all over the world and has taught at several universities in Holland and is a regular visiting professor at Columbia University New York. Since 2002 he has a tenured professorship at the University of Kassel where he runs the CAD/digital design techniques department. Has won several prizes and has been exhibited all over the world. |
