Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec

Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, born respectively in 1971 and 1976, in Quimper in the Finistere, France, live and work in Saint-Denis. Among other things they have designed furniture and objects for Cappellini, Boffi, Habitat, Littala, Rosenthal, Magio, Roset, Sommer, La Monnaie de Paris, SMAK Iceland. They came to the world’s attention via a number of exhibitions and received Grand prix du jury International, Salon du meuble de Paris 98 (furniture fair), grand prix du design de la Ville de Paris (top design prize of the City of Paris), the Best New Designer Award New York (1999), and ‘Compasso d’oro’ nomination for the spring chair (2001). Their pieces belong to the permanent collection at Centre Georges Pompidou and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Their design for an ISSEY MIYAKE A-POC space opened in Paris in 2000. Held their own exhibition at Miyake Design Studio Gallery (Tokyo) and Galerie Kréo (Paris) in 2001 also in 2002 at Design Museum in London.
