kOnyk
kOnyk was formed in 1989 by Craig Konyk as an interdisciplinary architecture design studio. Craig Konyk’s first involvement in public art work commenced with “Bridge...” done for Creative Time’s Art on the Beach Program in 1987. He has exhibited work at Artists Space Gallery, Storefront for Art and Architecture and Parson School of Design in New York. He was selected for Progressive Architecture’s Young Architect’s Issue of 1994. His work was included in the group exhibitiuon entitled “American Architecture @ the Edge of the Millennium” at the American Academy in Rome, Italy in May 1998 and Parsons School of Design in September 1999. Two recent projects, “dreams 1900–2000” and “hydra (one)” received design awards in I.D. Magazine’s Design Review 2000 in August 2000. A domestic prototype, “smart surface”, was featured in the January 2001 issue of surface magazine.
