Masato Araya Born in 1943. Graduated from faculty of Architecture in Science & Engineering, major in Structural Engineering (Gengo Matsui Lab.), Waseda University in 1969. Worked with Kimura Structural Engineers (1969-1971), Azusa Sekkei Co.,Ltd. (1971-1982) before establishing Design Office Oak Inc in 1982. Established Structure Design Office, Oak Inc in 1995. Has lectured at Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, Tokyo University (2000-2003) and now lectures at School of Science for Open and Environmental System, Keio University and Faculty of Architecture, School of Science and Engineering, Waseda University (2000-). He works with various architects. His work with Toyo Ito includes Brugge Pavilion 2002, Belgium, TOD'S Omotesando Building,Japan (2004).
