The site is within a high-density city block of continuous low-rise residences that faces onto a Tokyo highway. Conforming to the irregular-shaped site, the buildings are spread out and positioned at congenial distances from another using an interlocking garden. In that way the arrangement proposes an expansive dwelling space within a dense urban residential district.

The residential units are maisonettes that intersect three dimensionally in L-shaped configurations. The composition of openings to the north, south, east and west makes it possible to utilize sunlight and natural ventilation. As a basis, each building has four units combined into a cubic volume and like independent stacked row houses, external stairways provide access to each unit. The building in progress for the first phase is composed of five units consisting of two types of maisonettes and flat.
