| This was a newly-established public college planned in the center of Wakayama City. A building, formerly a department store, was to be renovated to house the main division of the college. Supplementary facilities, such as the auditorium and gymnasium, were to be located 350m away. The college facilities had to be separated due to restrictions in the size of the site. We proposed the overall city to be treated as a campus, including the zone between the two sites. This was a project that tackled various contemporary issues such as revitalizing the center city, reusing existing buildings, and developing relationships between college campuses and their neighborhoods. |
